“I am writing a letter to Santa Claus,” said Arrow.

“What are you asking him for?” asked Cutie.

“A remote control mouse,” said Arrow. “And an automatic food dispenser.”

“It figures you would think of your stomach,” laughed Cutie. “What else did you ask for?”

“A ton of receipt paper for you,” said Arrow.

“You actually put that on your Christmas letter for me,” said Cutie, excitedly.

“I know how much you love it when Daddy crumples up receipt paper and throws it on the floor for you to play with,” said Arrow. “I also asked Santa to bring us some shoe laces and a couple of new cardboard boxes.”

“I love it when Mommy and Daddy dangle shoe laces so that we can chase them,” said Cutie.

“I love playing hide-and-seek in cardboard boxes with you,” said Arrow.

“Is that all you asked for?” asked Cutie.

“I asked for some treats for you and I,” said Arrow. “I also told Santa that I hope he has a good Christmas.”

“That was very thoughtful of you,” said Cutie. “Do you think Santa will actually read your letter? After all, we are just cats.”

“I hope he does,” said Arrow.

“Have you been a good boy this year?” said Cutie. “I know I have been a perfect little angel.”

“I have been as good as I can be with you around,” said Arrow.

“What is that supposed to mean?” asked Cutie.

“You are always swatting me,” said Arrow. “Most times for no reason too.”

“You swat me sometimes too,” said Cutie.

“I guess we will just have to wait and see what Santa does,” said Arrow.

“Yes,” said Cutie. “It is probably too late this year to start behaving.”

Cutie went up to Arrow and swatted him.

“What did you do that for?” asked Arrow, his feelings hurt. “I didn’t do anything bad.”

“Well,” said Cutie. “I have to get in all the swats I can right now because after Christmas, I have a feeling we are going to be told that we can’t do that anymore.”
