“Please show me where she is,” said Easter LilyEaster LilyEaster Lily is a flower that walks and talks. She lives in a flower garden and talks to people who are sad. She comes alive at Easter time. Her best friend is Renee Chickadee.. “I need to make her happy. It is only a few days until Easter. We can’t have anyone sad at Easter.”

“Follow me,” said Renee.

Easter Lily followed Renee. Just ahead, walking along the pathway, Easter Lily saw the elderly woman.

“I see that you are sad,” said Easter Lily.

“Yes,” said the elderly woman. “I am very sad.”

“What is your name?” asked Easter Lily.

“My name is Louise,” said the elderly woman. “But everyone calls me Grandma.”

“Well Grandma,” said Easter Lily. “My name is Easter Lily and this is my friend, Renee Chickadee. Now, why are you so sad?”

“I am new here to the city,” explained Grandma. “I am visiting my grandchildren for Easter and I got lost.”

“Oh dear,” said Easter Lily. “That is horrible. I am sorry to hear that. What is your son’s address?”

“That’s just it,” said Grandma. “I don’t remember. The only thing I remember is that it had a bright yellow porch.”

Renee flew off in search of a house with a bright yellow porch. It wasn’t long until she found it. She returned to the garden.

“Is it the house beside the grocery store?” asked Renee.

“Yes,” said Grandma. “That is the house.”

“Follow me,” said Renee.

Grandma and Easter Lily followed Renee. Soon, they were standing outside of the house with a yellow porch.

“Thank you so much,” said Grandma, when she recognized the house. I am so relieved and happy. I had visions of spending Easter all by myself in the garden.”

“I am just happy that you will now spend Easter with your grandchildren,” said Easter Lily. “We can’t have anyone sad at Easter.”

“No more sadness here,” said Grandma.

“That is what I like to hear,” said Easter Lily. “Happy Easter!”

“Happy Easter to you and Renee as well,” said Grandma.
