Beatrice Bee was flying around Bed Tyme Tales Storyland on a very hot summer day. She saw a butcher shop and decided she would stop in for a visit. She thought it would be a good place to escape from the heat.
Just as Beatrice flew into the butcher shop, Bobby the Butcher, the owner, picked up his butcher knife and started chopping up some meat. Beatrice almost flew right under the blade of the knife. She landed on the table, right beside the chopped up meat.
“Oh my!” exclaimed Bobby, seeing Beatrice on the table. “I hope I didn’t hurt you.”
“No,” said Beatrice. “You didn’t hurt me.”
“Good,” said Bobby. “I would never want you. I love bees and I will always help out a bee in need.”
“Thank you,” said Beatrice. “Bees really do appreciate your help.”
Bobby set his butcher knife down on the table. Beatrice noticed that it glowed.
“Why does your knife glow?” asked Beatrice.
“This knife is a very special knife,” explained Bobby. “It was originally purchased by my grandfather and then he gave it to my dad.”
“Did your dad give it to you?” asked Beatrice.
“No,” said Bobby.” My dad’s sister, my Aunt Jessica got it. She is the black sheep of the family.”
“I see,” said Beatrice.
“This knife has magical powers,” said Bobby. “Aunt Jessica ran the business into the ground. She did come to her senses long enough to make sure the knife was in the proper hands. She gave the knife to me. I was able to turn the business around. The knife glows when it is in the proper hands.”
“That is very interesting,” said Beatrice.
“The knife knows you are no threat,” explained Bobby.
“That is wonderful,” said Beatrice. “It is a beautiful knife.”
“Thank you,” said Bobby.
Beatrice Bee and Bobby soon became the best of friends. Bobby told Beatrice she could visit him whenever she wanted. Beatrice liked that idea very much.
